Spring Cleaning & Downsizing - what to do with old glasses
Monday Feb 24th, 2020Share
Whether it's spring cleaning or down-sizing, we are bound to come across stuff that we no longer need, yet it's a shame to throw these items away. Someone should be able to use them, shouldn't they?
One of those items that we often find are glasses. Reading glasses, bifocals, sunglasses... there are usually a couple of old pairs hidden at the back of a drawer, often in a night table, but sometimes in the kitchen junk drawer too.
But what to do with them?
Lions clubs across the country accept donations for their Recycle for Sight project. According to their website donations of eyeglasses, once distributed in developing nations offers a better education, healthier development and better quality of life for children and better employment opportunities and economic strength for adults.
What better way to re-purpose those old glasses?
